Tuilerie Soirans Arboretum
Located on the site of a former tile factory, more than 160 species of trees are present.
Created in the year 2000, it is a witness to the transition between the 20th and 21st centuries. The Tuilerie Arboretum was conceived, decided upon and created by the Soirans Municipal Council in partnership with the Association of Friends of the Forest and the Environment and the schools of the Soirans-Pluvet-Tréclun inter-municipal school district.
A natural monument of modern times, the Tuilerie Arboretum contributes to the vitality and enhancement of the village and its surroundings. The trees that have been planted, rooted in the very soil our ancestors used to make tiles and bricks, stand as living testaments to the importance of our heritage for future generations, embodying hope and a vision for the future. A link between the village and the forest, and a symbol of the transition between the 20th and 21st centuries, the Tuilerie Arboretum also expresses, through the diversity of its trees, an openness to the world. The choice of species was made according to the climatic requirements of our region, the existing forest heritage, the soil type, and the available space. Planting took place in February and March. Schools and the local community participated in this important phase of the project. The act of planting, enriching and symbolic, has allowed us to demonstrate civic awareness and a responsibility towards a common heritage to be passed on.
