Tillenay

The Tillenay dam

This dam, which dates from 2011, is equipped with a fish pass and a canoe pass.

A first retractable dam was built at the end of the 19th century to control the flow of the river. It was installed on the old spillway, thus creating the Auxonne-Tillenay reservoir.

Even though the new automated dam has taken over, the old needle dam has been preserved: it is the last one of this size in France.

Saint-Denis Church

It dates from the 14th century. Already in the 7th century, there was a Saint-Denis chapel in Tillenay located near the site of the current church which was completely modified around 1830.

Inside, furnishings classified as historical monuments bear witness to its ancient history: an 18th-century limestone holy water font, a 15th-century limestone statue of a saint with a book.

Tillenay station

It was built from 1852 to 1853 to serve Auxonne: a garrison town, Auxonne was not allowed to have its own station.

Operational since 1855, the station has been classified as a historical monument since 1992.
